Make a Tuition Payment or Enroll in a Payment Plan
When it comes to tuition costs, we’re proud to offer a rate that’s more accessible to Chicagoans than other options.
The total cost of your tuition is related to how many credits you are taking that semester. Click here to see a full breakdown of our tuition rates.
After you register for classes, you have three days to verify how you plan to pay for them. Students who do not meet this deadline will lose their spot in all registered classes. You will then have to re-register for all of your classes, if they are still open.
Spring 2024 Update: Due to FAFSA delays, we are extending the traditional three-day payment verification deadline for the fall 2024 and spring 2025 semesters. You will have until May 13, 2024, to verify how you plan to pay for your fall 2024 classes to avoid being dropped from them. You will have until November 1, 2024, to verify how you plan to pay for your spring 2025 classes.
You can find your tuition payment deadline in the student portal at my.ccc.edu.
Once you’ve logged in, you will see a notification in the Alerts/Tasks/Holds section:

If you have received a financial aid verification hold, you can request a 10-day enrollment hold. This will allow you to hold your registered classes for up to 10 days while you gather final financial aid requirements. Keep in mind that you can only make this request once per semester. Also, please allow up to 48 hours after your materials have been submitted for your financial aid to process and your hold to be released.
If you have received a 10-day financial aid extension due to a financial aid verification hold, your reminder will look like this:
Online
Paying your tuition online requires a credit/debit card or a checking account. Please note that you will not be able to make online payments for the spring 2025 semester until August 30, 2024.
To pay your tuition in full:
- Visit your student portal at my.ccc.edu
- Scroll down and click ‘Student Finance Account’ on the bottom left
- Click ‘Account Services’ from the sidebar, then click ‘Payment Options’
- Click the ‘Payment Options’ link to be redirected to Nelnet, City Colleges’ tuition payment service provider
- Set up your account and/or make a one-time payment
Note: If you’re having trouble with your online payment, please check your browser. Microsoft Edge may give you an error message. Chrome is the preferred browser to use when making tuition payments.

To pay your tuition in person, please visit your college’s Business Office. Office locations are listed below.
City Colleges offers a monthly payment plan to help you spread out your tuition payments instead of paying all at once. Payments are deducted in equal installments each month until your balance is paid in full.
Signing up for the payment plan requires a credit/debit card or a checking account. Please note that you will not be able to make online payments for the spring 2025 semester until August 30, 2024.

Apply for Financial Aid
City Colleges encourages all of our students, regardless of income, to complete the FAFSA or Alternative Application to determine whether you qualify for federal and state financial aid. Additionally, many scholarships require you to fill out a financial aid application, so it’s best to complete it as soon as you can.
The Alternative Application for Illinois Financial Aid allows qualifying undocumented students who are not otherwise eligible for federal financial aid to apply for Illinois Monetary Award Program (MAP) grants.

Applying for scholarships is a big part of many college students’ journeys. The City Colleges of Chicago Foundation provides a number of awards to support students pursuing a certificate or degree from City Colleges.
