Malcolm X College (MXC) and City Colleges of Chicago (CCC) are proud to announce the official naming ceremony of a brand-new community center at Malcolm X College West Campus (MXCW), its satellite campus, after The Honorable U.S. Congressman Danny K. Davis for his decades of support for City Colleges of Chicago, Malcolm X College and residents of Chicago’s West Side on Friday, August 28, 2026.

Malcolm X College West Campus’ Community Center will be named in honor of Congressman Danny K. Davis for his tireless work in ensuring that Malcolm X College and Malcolm X College West Campus students and communities receive the best education, facilities, funding and enriching educational experiences that they need and deserve.
“Malcolm X College is a premier community institution of higher learning, accessible and affordable to the community at large. To be associated with this institution in any way is indeed a high honor, and to have my name placed on this training center is a supreme honor. I have spent my career believing that education is one of the greatest pathways to opportunity, and I am especially proud of the investments we have made in students and families on the West Side and all over Chicago,” said U.S. Congressman Danny K. Davis. “My sincere thanks to Board Chair Katya Nuques and the City Colleges of Chicago Board of Trustees; Chancellor Juan Salgado; David A. The funds raised by U.S. Representative Danny Davis includes millions of dollars for construction, renovations, childcare, tech labs, and study abroad programs for Malcolm X College students both at the main campus and at MXCW.
