Four City Colleges Alumni Named 2026-2028 Obama-Chesky Voyagers

This week, 100 students from across the country were named 2026-2028 Voyagers after being selected for the Obama-Chesky Voyager Scholarship for Public Service. Four of those students are City Colleges of Chicago alumni.

The four alumni are:
Kaidan Bennett — Harold Washington College
Dylan Davis — Harold Washington College
Jaretsy Espinosa — Wilbur Wright College
Angelique Herron — Harold Washington College

The Obama-Chesky Voyager Scholarship for Public Service is awarded to students who are passionate about helping others, serving their communities, and pursuing public service. The prestigious scholarship includes up to $25,000 per year for students to complete their undergraduate studies, a $10,000 stipend and free Airbnb housing for their summer work-travel experience, a 10-year stipend from Airbnb, the option to attend an in-person leadership conference, and entry into a two-year leadership development program that connects students with a broad network of mentors and leaders. The ultimate goal is to prepare students for successful careers in public service.

This is not the first time City Colleges alumni have received the Voyager scholarship. Five City Colleges of Chicago alumni joined the 2024-2026 cohort of the Obama Foundation Voyagers, and Harold Washington’s Marnee Ostoa joined the 2023-2025 cohort.

This achievement highlights the impact City Colleges alumni are making in communities across Chicago and beyond.
