Chicago Early Learning Workforce Scholarship (CELWS) recipients gathered with families, friends, and supporters to celebrate completing an early learning-focused degree or program at City Colleges, National Louis University, Roosevelt University, or the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC).
The celebratory evening included speakers from the City of Chicago as well as partner institutions, the presentation of certificates to the CELWS recipients, and a reception.
Administered by Harry S Truman College, the scholarship helps to create a strong pipeline of talented and diverse educators. Early Childhood education is a crucial part in laying the foundation for all learning, and this collective vision across institutions allows Chicagoans to earn the credentials they need to join or continue in the early childhood education workforce. The scholarship covers 100% of tuition and eligible fees, as well as up to $250 in books per course.
