Governor Pritzker announces $40.5 million expansion of DMG Mori in Illinois at Richard J. Daley College. Company to create 74 new jobs and launch workforce development program with City Colleges of Chicago.

 

Guided by Illinois’ Economic Growth Plan, Governor Pritzker continues to build the foundation for long-term success by focusing on the key growth industries — including advanced manufacturing — and DMG MORI’s investment further strengthens Illinois’ position in this sector. The company’s expansion also adds to the growing list of global companies, including SilesiaDamera, and Diraq, that have recently committed to doing business in Illinois because of the state’s skilled workforce, robust infrastructure, and commitment to economic development. These recent investments underscore Illinois’ reputation as a hub for foreign direct investment and as a destination for corporate expansion and relocation.

Richard J. Daley College’s manufacturing curriculum addresses the urgent demand for skilled workers in manufacturing by providing hands-on training in advanced manufacturing that includes, CNC machining, robotics, and welding. Daley College’s Manufacturing Technology and Engineering center or MTEC facility, equips Chicagoans with industry certifications, degrees and various technical skills, creating pathways to high-wage, in-demand careers while fostering regional economic growth.
