Open to the public at a minimal cost, these courses make drone education accessible to anyone interested in mastering the technology that’s transforming industries worldwide. In response to the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) Part 107 regulations, which establish rules for commercial drone operation, Olive-Harvey College’s drone courses provide a structured path for participants to gain the skills and credentials they need.
The Recreational Drone Flying program is designed for hobbyists and beginners, this hands-on course introduces participants to drone technology, safety, and flight control.
Designed for ages 12 and up, students learn how to fly drones responsibly for fun, photography, and community projects, and have the opportunity to earn recreational FAA certification. The Professional Drone Licensing program prepares participants to pass the FAA’s Part 107 knowledge test and earn a Remote Pilot Certificate. The program covers airspace regulations, weather effects, emergency procedures, and drone maintenance. It’s ideal for those seeking to use drones commercially in fields such as real estate, construction, filmmaking, public safety, and agriculture. Drones are revolutionizing the way professionals work across multiple sectors. OHC Program details: The cost ranges from $50 to $210, more affordable than the average drone course ($100–$300 ).
