Chicago Public high school students got a behind-the-scenes look at Olive-Harvey College’s Transportation, Distribution, and Logistics (TDL) Center on May 5, 2022. 67 students from Chicago Vocational Career Academy and Curie Metro High School were in attendance.
Students took part in a one-hour discussion with representatives from City Colleges partners including the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA), CDX Learning Systems, FedEx, Hunter Engineering, Snap-on Incorporated, Waste Management, Rush Truck Centers, Navistar International, and Union Pacific.
Participants met with employer partners and learned about enrolling in Olive-Harvey’s Automotive Technology and Diesel Technology programs. Students enjoyed games and activities provided by the college’s STEM Center for Teaching and Learning.
Participants received guided tours of Olive-Harvey’s state-of-the-art TDL Center, a 100,003 square foot facility located at 10001 S. Woodlawn. The center opened in 2019 and is LEED Gold certified by the U.S. Green Building Council.
