Join Nearly 1,700 Graduates of City Colleges of Chicago As They Walk Across The Stage To Receive Their Degrees
After two years of virtual Commencement ceremonies, nearly 1,700 City Colleges of Chicago (CCC) students, from all seven colleges, will gather in-person, with their families and friends, at Wintrust Arena today— Sunday, May 1, to walk across the stage and receive their associate degrees.
“We know how hard each student worked to get here to graduation, and we are thankful to be able to recognize their efforts with today’s celebration,” said Juan Salgado, Chancellor of City Colleges of Chicago. “Our graduates truly reflect Chicago and they are mothers and fathers, husbands and wives –and partners, community volunteers and military service members, immigrants and life-long Chicagoans. They are the backbone of our great city.”
Two separate ceremonies will be held: the first ceremony starts at 1pm; and the second ceremony begins at 6:30pm. The program includes remarks given by the Class Valedictorians, City Colleges leadership and faculty. The ceremonies will be live-streamed and can be viewed here: www.ccc.edu/graduation.
Because education transforms lives, part of City Colleges’ mission is to serve as the City’s most accessible higher education engine of socioeconomic mobility and racial equity – empowering all Chicagoans to take part in building a stronger and more just city.
