Student athletes from across the district gathered with leadership to celebrate a year of wins and tough losses – but overall, a year of growth for City Colleges athletics.
Chancellor Salgado addressed the teams, discussing the dedication it takes to keep up with studies while maintaining focus on the court or field. Since returning to play in Fall 2021 after COVID, City Colleges Athletics has expanded from 15 teams to 26 teams across five sports—volleyball, soccer, basketball, baseball, and track & field. Academically, students continue to excel, with 159 student-athletes earning a 3.0 GPA or higher last fall, and 26 student-athletes achieving a perfect 4.0 GPA.
