Pictured are four City Colleges of Chicago students each in an apprenticeship. Joshua (top of photo) wants to be a cyber tech analyst and shared that he appreciated meeting everyone in the room.
As a proud member of the Chicago Apprentice Network (CAN), City Colleges of Chicago connects students with “earn-and-learn” programs that pair paid work experience with classroom education, including those in high tech and other STEM-based careers. Through its partnerships, City Colleges is bridging the gap between higher education and high-demand careers and through these apprenticeships, students build valuable credentials and can find a direct path to employment. This collective effort drives local economic inclusion and fuels innovation in Chicago and throughout Illinois, ensuring that our students can thrive.
“Apprenticeships are a key part of our growing tech programs. They are life-changing for Chicagoans, and they are a win for companies looking for talent that is deeply invested in their company’s success,” said Chancellor Juan Salgado, City Colleges of Chicago. “Paid apprenticeships are the fastest pathway to upward mobility and we believe they can serve as a catalyst to generational wealth and prosperity.”
