Malcolm X College West Campus Dean Barbara Meschino, has once again been nominated and has accepted the award as one of the 2026 West Side Women of Wisdom & Inspiration, a distinguished honor that recognizes extraordinary women who uplift, empower, and transform their communities.
The award, named the 100+ West Side Women of Wisdom and Inspiration, reflects her enduring commitment to our students and communities as well as her steadfast dedication to strengthening the West Side of Chicago through higher education. Through both challenges and triumphs, she continues to lead with passion, purpose, and perseverance. Reflecting on her work, Dean Meschino shares, “Serving students deepens my purpose and reminds me every day why this mission of education matters. I would also like to congratulate all of the women being recognized. It’s truly an honor to stand with them. I would also like to acknowledge that I too stand on the shoulders of the women who have come before me and guided my path.”
Dean Meschino will be celebrated alongside an inspiring group of other changemakers, including nonprofit leaders, faith pioneers, and community advocates—each leaving a lasting impact on Chicago’s West Side. This honor is part of the 7th Annual Recognition of West Side Women of Wisdom & Inspiration, hosted by DW Provision Consulting Services, which has recognized more than 115 remarkable women over the years. The Recognition Dinner is scheduled for April 26 at Drury Lane.
