ASM Technical Felow (FASM) and Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) Michael Connelly, an adjunct manufacturing professor at Richard J. Daley College’s Manufacturing, Technology, Engineering Center (MTEC), has been appointed president of the International Metallographic Society (IMS).
The IMS connects professionals from around the world who share an interest in metallography, the study of the structure of metals and materials, and materials analysis. IMS provides technical resources, continuing education, and networking opportunities for metallographers. As president, Connelly will lead a tight-knit community of metallographers and experts to advance IMS’s mission to promote excellence and innovation in materials science.
City Colleges of Chicago congratulations Connelly for this recognition. His deep expertise and leadership in metallography are a benefit to his manufacturing students, who are the next generation of manufacturing and materials professionals.
