Fernando Quiroz and Kossiwa Sonou have been selected as inaugural 2025 Chime Workforce Scholars through the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. They are two of 200 community college students nationwide who received the $1,000 scholarship.

The scholarship is designed to assist students enrolled in workforce-ready programs by covering tuition, books, certification fees, uniforms, and tools. By helping offset these costs, Fernando and Kossiwa can focus on building the skills and credentials needed for their future careers.

“Winning the Chime Workforce Scholarship is a huge relief and a game-changer for me,” Fernando said. “It frees me up to pursue hands-on opportunities like internships and workshops that’ll build my skills and network. It’s empowering me to transition confidently from student to professional.”

“Receiving this scholarship motivates me to keep working hard knowing there are people who believe in my potential and want to see me succeed,” Kossiwa shared.

Congratulations to Fernando and Kossiwa on this well-deserved recognition!
