For the past eight years, City Colleges of Chicago has honored those in our community who make our classrooms and offices brighter.
From dedicated staff members who ensure smooth operations and student success, to students who embody a spirit of collaboration and support, the recipients of this year’s Luminary Awards shine as beacons of excellence across our campuses, our district office, and our city.
We proudly celebrated our 2025 Luminary Award recipients on Wednesday, April 23 at Kennedy-King College, recognizing and applauding their inspiring efforts and significant contributions at the 2025 Luminary Awards Reception Ceremony.
“Our student recipients have multiple roles and positions on campus and in their communities, but continue to maintain strong GPAs, plan for the future, and assist and support their peers,” Chancellor Juan Salgado said. “Our staff recipients serve as mentors and cheerleaders to their students, and they support their colleagues daily. These employees are not just dedicated to their students’ success at City Colleges, but in life.”
This year’s recipients at each college are as follows:
Harry S Truman College
Harold Washington College
Kennedy-King College
Malcolm X College
Olive-Harvey College
Richard J. Daley College
Wilbur Wright College
