Shavon N. Taylor-Booker, Associate Vice Chancellor of Early College Programming at City Colleges of Chicago, has been honored as one of the Chicago Defender’s 2025 Women of Excellence. This award recognizes African American women who inspire their communities through dedication, hard work, and significant achievements. Honorees are nominated by Chicago Defender readers and include executive directors, CEOs, entrepreneurs, judges, and other leaders. The 2025 Women of Excellence will be celebrated at an induction ceremony on March 21, 2025.

In her role at City Colleges, Taylor-Booker is committed to providing high school students with access to college courses through the Early College program, ensuring they have the opportunity to excel in higher education.
