Olive-Harvey College (OHC) services the entire Chicago community and beyond, bridging the gap between education and industry.
Recently, E.T. Mitchell, the director of workforce partnerships at Olive-Harvey College, joined the Next Generation in Trucking podcast to discuss her role at the college and how she works to create opportunities for students. Mitchell focuses on creating partnerships in the transportation, distribution, and logistics (TDL) industry to provide opportunities such as employment, internships, and apprenticeships.
The conversation spoke to the importance of bridging the gap between industry and education, engaging companies through various activities, and showcasing successful partnerships with major companies, including PepsiCo and UPS. We have companies who have local and national opportunities, and our students can get paid while training,” said Mitchell. “It’s all about building authentic relationships. I want prospective students to know that you cannot go wrong with a CDL license or certification. We are always delivering in-demand training for high growth fields that lead to successful careers.”
