Today, the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation announced the semifinalists under consideration for its highly-competitive Cooke Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship, including 12 City Colleges of Chicago students.

In total, more than 1,600 community college students applied for the scholarship this year, and the 12 City Colleges students make up more than half of the 23 semifinalists selected from the state of Illinois. Additionally, eight semi-finalists are part of the Wright College engineering program.

The prestigious Cooke Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship offers recipients up to $55,000 for two to three years to attend a four-year college or university. The recipients will be announced in May.
