City Colleges of Chicago and the City Colleges of Chicago Foundation announced the first cohort of the Timuel D. Black, Jr. Fellows at the inaugural Timuel D. Black Jr. Scholarship and Fellowship Luncheon.
Twelve City Colleges students were recognized for their academic excellence, outstanding leadership, community involvement, and commitment to social justice. These fellows will receive financial assistance as well as mentorship and networking opportunities and visit historic sites that were inspired by Timuel’s remarkable career.
The luncheon celebrated the life and legacy of its namesake, the late Timuel D. Black Jr. and his incredible contributions to Chicago and the nation. Representatives from community, business, education, and government sectors learned about Tim and celebrate the inaugural class of the Timuel D. Black Jr. fellows.
