De'Anna Stamps
By getting involved on campus, De’Anna Stamps discovered the college experience she was looking for at Kennedy-King College.
Malcolm X College nursing graduate Nina Sanchez began her career as a cosmetologist. After being diagnosed with lupus and going into end-stage renal failure during her first pregnancy at age 27, her life path changed dramatically.
Through eight years of dialysis and health challenges—including losing her first kidney transplant—Nina never lost sight of her dream. She found herself so inspired by the compassionate care of her nursing team that she decided she wanted to provide the same comfort and care to others.
