Liliana Ornelas grew up on the South Side of Chicago and planned to leave the city for college. However, after researching the cost, her plans changed and she decided to stay in Chicago. Liliana also received the Star Scholarship, which allowed her to study at Daley College at no cost due to her good grades in high school.

Liliana’s strong GPA continued as she pursued her associate degree, earning her the recognition of salutatorian. Now that she’s earned her associate degree, she plans to apply for dental hygiene programs and become the first health care professional in her family. She was extremely proud to graduate debt-free.

“I would recommend coming to City Colleges because you can still receive the same general education classes you would if you were to go away to a university all for a fraction of the price with great resources and great advisors,” Liliana said.
