Ahmad

Ahmad was searching for something different, something that gave him purpose. He found that through Olive-Harvey College’s 1-Year and Out Pathway to Policing Program.

During his time at Olive-Harvey, Ahmad met with the community and interacted with people who shared the same passion as him.

Now that Ahmad has completed the program, he has his sights set on working in law enforcement and is in the process of getting hired by the Chicago Police Department.

Ahmad credits his professors’ support with helping him reach this milestone. Their willingness to stay long after classes ended showed their dedication to Ahmad’s success and completion of the program as Olive-Harvey’s 2026 valedictorian.

When asked why he would recommend City Colleges, Ahmad said, “It was just like a second home to me. The staff, the community, everybody was just open to me coming, and they were very supportive.”
