About the Chicago Bilingual Nurses Consortium

The Chicago Welcome Back Center (CWBC) is a partnership between Richard J. Daley College and the Chicago Bilingual Nurses Consortium (CBNC) designed to address multiple persistent problems within the healthcare system, including workforce and healthcare disparities in lower income and immigrant populations in Chicago.

The Chicago Bilingual Nurses Consortium was founded in 1989 at Alivio Medical Center and has more than thirty years of experience helping nearly one thousand bilingual, bicultural, and internationally educated nurses attain the experience and credentials they need to practice their profession in the US.

Daley College is one of the City Colleges of Chicago and has been educating students on Chicago’s Southwest Side since 1960. These two organizations have partnered to create the Chicago Welcome Back Center in response to the overwhelming shortage of nurses in Chicago
