Wear purple to raise awareness of dating and domestic violence, and show your support and solidarity with survivors. Stop by the 1600 Hallway to participate in a day of action with giveaways, activities, and community resources. The resource fair will have Project S.A.F.E., Survivor Advocacy Services, The Wellness Center, Campus Security, and community partners Apna Ghar, YWCA, and Awakenings.
What is Purple Thursday? The third Thursday of October is now nationally known as Purple Thursday, observed during Domestic Violence Awareness Month! It’s a national day of action for showing support and spreading awareness about domestic violence. This is done by wearing purple and sharing resources to raise awareness about the realities of abuse, underscore the qualities of healthy relationships, mourn lives lost to DV, share stories of survivorship, and advocate for policy change.
