As stated in the Haudenosaunee’s Great Law of Peace, the Seventh Generation Principle asks us to consider in our every deliberation, the impact of our decisions on the next seven generations. This way of thinking encourages decision-making that looks beyond short-term benefits in favor of decisions that will have a positive impact on the faces that have yet to come. It asks us to take into consideration the land, water, plants, animals, and people before we make major decisions.
