Kennedy-King: Become an UndocuAlly Training

Kennedy-King College faculty and staff are encouraged to support our undocumented students by attending a virtual UndocuAlly Training on Thursday, August 3 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

You must register in advance to attend this training. The Zoom link will be provided after you register.

About the UndocuAlly Training:

The City Colleges of Chicago UndocuAlly Training is designed to provide faculty and staff with information and resources to better assist undocumented students. This three-hour training session is offered once per semester, focusing on:

  • The roles, expectations, and responsibilities of becoming an effective advocate for undocumented students.
  • State and federal legislation that affects undocumented students.
  • Admissions practices and financial aid guidelines.
  • Effective ways to cultivate an open and supportive campus environment for undocumented students and their families.

Additional Details:

  • Participants who attend the entire session will receive an “UndocuAlly” poster to be displayed proudly in their office, cubicle, or laptop.
  • Participants must be on time. Latecomers will not be allowed to join.

Please note that this training is not mandatory for any City Colleges of Chicago employee, but it is highly recommended. All CCC employees are welcome to participate regardless of their role in the institution. If supervisor approval is required to attend, please make sure to communicate and obtain approval prior to making a commitment.

If you have any questions, please contact Luvia Moreno, City Colleges of Chicago’s undocumented student services coordinator, at lmoreno113@ccc.edu, and Afton Donald, Kennedy-King College’s undocumented student liaison, at adonald2@ccc.edu.
