City Colleges Academic Affairs is proud to offer Instructional Fundamentals: Instructional Technology, a self-paced asynchronous short course intended to support faculty instructional development in line with Pillar 5 of the Academic Excellence Framework (ccc.edu/aef). Instructional Fundamentals: Instructional Technology reviews some basic tools that are helpful in implementing excellent pedagogy in your own classes.
Objectives:
- Demonstrate the ability to navigate and apply essential tools within Brightspace to create course content.
- Compare the features of various instructional tools within Brightspace and analyze their effectiveness in different learning scenarios.
- Assess the suitability of specific instructional tools in Brightspace for different types of learning activities and outcomes
Examples of reflections & artifacts you’ll work on:
- Self-reflection on technology tools
- Practice opportunities for Brightspace tools, VoiceThread, and Hypothesis
Schedule:
The short course is self paced and will be available throughout the Fall 2025 semester. Participants should plan to dedicate 4-6 hours total to take part in the short course.
