City Colleges Academic Affairs is proud to offer Instructional Fundamentals: Culturally Responsive Teaching, a two-week, asynchronous short course intended to support faculty instructional development in line with Pillar 3 of the Academic Excellence Framework. Instructional Fundamentals: Culturally Responsive Training prepares faculty on cultural self-awareness, how culturally responsive teaching deepens connections between students’ lived experiences and course material, and lifelong learning regarding intersectional anti-racism.
Examples of reflections & artifacts you’ll work on:
- Positionality statement
- Implicit association test
- Examples of culturally responsive teaching in your context
- Future plans for considering anti-racism in education
Schedule:
The short course will run from Wednesday, March 5 to Wednesday, March 19. Participants should plan to dedicate 2-3 hours each week (4-6 hours total) to take part in the short course.
