An opportunity for City Colleges tech students to skill and faculty to upskill.

The short (a free, one‑week High‑Performance Computing (HPC) bootcamp for undergraduate STEM students, hosted by Argonne National Laboratory from August 9–14, 2026 in St. Charles, IL. Travel, lodging, and food are covered, the application deadline is February 28) Applications can be submitted here

The Argonne Introduction to High-Performance Computing Bootcamp provides STEM students with a one-week immersive, hands-on experience applying computational and data science tools and techniques to complex science problems. The bootcamp will bring together around 70 participants, supported by peer mentors and national laboratory staff, as they learn foundational concepts in high-performance computing (HPC) and apply them to projects focused on real-world science problems. From August 9-14, 2026, participants will come together at the Q Center in St. Charles, IL, to learn from renowned computer scientists and HPC experts. Participants will have the opportunity to access national lab user facilities, home of some of the world’s most powerful supercomputers, as well as build long-term connections with peers interested in HPC both within and outside their fields. 

The program has no fee, and expenses for lodging, travel, and food will be covered.  Applications can be submitted here, and the application deadline is February 28th, 2026.
