The Effect of Violence on Migrant Communities: Part 1

This two-part series offered by Project S.A.F.E. and facilitated by Mujeres Latinas en Accion will address the experience of violence among the migrant community in Chicago. Part 1 will discuss the unique experiences of violence, particular gender-based violence, among migrants: at home, at the border, and here in the United States.

Part 2 will discuss equitable practices for serving im/migrant students who have been affected by violence in a culturally-competent ways that reflect how language, immigration status, and culture shape the unique barrier they face to accessing support. The two-part series will be offered twice.

Part 1 will also be offered on 10/23/23 from 9:30 – 11.

Part 2 will be offered on 11/6/23 from 9:30 – 11 and 11/29/23 from 5 – 6:30.
