Join us in the SAC for popcorn and view the documentary "King in the Wilderness: The Last Years of MLK Jr.’s Life." Upon the conclusion of the documentary, we will have a talk back facilitated by Associate Dean Michael Johns surrounding material covered in the feature film. In the discussion, explore topics surrounding the impact of MLK Jr.’s work on U.S. culture and politics, Chicago, and how we hold space for the holiday today. Take time to analyze the "I Have a Dream" speech and discuss how the vision he had back then was a catalyst for changes in society now. Upon the conclusion of the event, a one pager with local community volunteer opportunities and resources to learn more about the topics in the discussion will be provided to all attendees.
